1 ● Trunk shows in Palm Beach and Tokyo

The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach

Next week on July 28th and 29th, Paolo Martorano encamps at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. The New York-based tailor brings his house’s rigorous Old World standards—hand-cut patterns, basted fittings, and precise measurements—south for a limited visit. Known for dressing diplomats and downtown dandies alike, Martorano blends tradition with just enough modern swagger to make bespoke feel thrilling again.

Emiko Matsuda will be in Tokyo from July 31 to August 4. The London-based master shoemaker returns to her native Japan with a suitcase full of linen threads, beeswax, and centuries-old tools. Known for crafting shoes that age with their wearers, Matsuda’s precision and reverence for tradition make each fitting feel like a conversation across time.

2 ● Interview with bespoke shoemaker Emiko Matsuda

Trunkville interviews Emiko Matsuda about the vanishing art of bespoke shoemaking, the quiet intimacy of craft, and why a good pair of shoes might just outlast the world that made them.

Another masterpiece from Emiko Matsuda
