1 ● NYC trunk shows this month (and tomorrow!)

Okay, May is an eventful month. NYC gets visits from Milan, Naples, and Palermo.

Laura Bachmeier, of Milan-based Vestificio, is here in NYC today the 8th (which you’re too late for) and tomorrow the 9th (for which there’s still time!). She specializes in bespoke tailoring for women, men, and dogs. Yes, dogs. You can reach out to her over email ([email protected]) to find a time to meet her at No Man Walks Alone, on the border of Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen. No pressure, but it’s worth it. Go meet her, get your measurements taken, and get the wheels turning on the next piece for your wardrobe. Have a coffee and maybe a drink.

A few days later, on May 11th and 12th, we have Naples-based Gianluca Migliarotti of Pommella Napoli. Gianluca used to make films. Now, he makes bespoke trousers. Interesting guy who takes his craft seriously, and it shows. You can also find him at No Man Walks Alone. Check out his work here, and arrange a time to stop by his trunk show by contacting him at [email protected].

Finally, we get Palermo-based I Sarti Italiani. Their dates have been in flux, so you should just reach out to them. They’ll be at The Beekman Tower in Midtown East. They do men’s shirts, trousers, suits, and coats — including some beautiful linen suits, perfect for looking elegant even when the weather is warm.

If you’re in NYC and been curious about bespoke, it’s a great month to meet some makers.

2 ● How to choose properly fitted pants

Menswear writer Derek Guy has a helpful post on how to choose pants. Take the twelve seconds out of your day to watch.

3 ● A track that gives you permission to start the Spring

See you next time.
